It's been nearly three years since HardOCP co-founder Kyle Bennett announced he was retiring from Pioneer Technology to join Enthusiast Engagement at Intel, a concert that sees Bennett as the link between the chipmaker and his fan community. However, this week he returned to HardOCP in a limited capacity.
In a farewell letter sent on March 19, 2019, Bennett said he had been doing the same thing for more than two decades and that the opportunity to do something new was very attractive.<"My new position at Intel will allow me to be another voice for enthusiasts within the company, which I believe will be essential in the future," Bennett said. "Likewise, I will be the voice of Intel coming directly to the fan community, which I believe is absolutely necessary." p>
Says Bennett says HardOCP is "moving away" and that news, editorials, or other content will not publish hardware reviews. Given the actual date of April 1, some thought it was more than just the first day of April. The following Twitter post with the image of the Bennett Intel logo removed any doubts about a detailed joke. p>
On December 28, 2021, Bennett returned to his OCP hard drive. In a brief update, he said he's been out of the game for nearly three years, but wants to talk somewhere other than social media. He cautioned that visitors should not, as in the past, expect daily news updates or reviews. Instead, think of it as a blog where he occasionally talks about tech gadgets and companies. p>
