Highly anticipated: The latest version of the Android mobile operating system is now available from Google and it will be hot after the company's latest Pixel event. However, it is not available to everyone. Currently, only Pixel phone owners can access Android 12. The rest of us will likely have to put it aside for another month or two.
Pixel 3 phones and above are eligible for updates, but we're not sure Android 12 will ship to the rest of the world. Some reports say it could be later this year, but no exact date has been set yet.
But that's fine in the long run. Even though Android 12 is fully released now, there are undoubtedly still a few bugs here and there. Pixel owners can track and report the following so others can enjoy a more consistent experience later. This is a win-win situation. For starters, it has an all-new interface that uses Google's new "Material You" design language. Evolution in Material Design System-wide color palette settings give smoother animations and lighter "fun" shapes and icons.
