What happened? Microsoft's vision of a password-free future begins now. Starting today, users can remove the password from their Microsoft account and have it sent to your email or phone using one of several unencrypted methods, including Windows Hello, Microsoft Authenticator, a security key, or a verification code.
Microsoft's Vice President Liat Benzur said she is aware of the fact that the world is not yet ready to remove passwords. As such, Microsoft has the tools to meet users who travel without a password. For example, Microsoft Edge has an in-house password manager, password, and password health dashboard that helps users create and maintain strong passwords.

The information on how to get started is really simple, just sign in to your Microsoft account, then select Advanced security options -> Additional security options -> Password without account and turn it on. Then just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and you should do it well.
If you find that passworldess is not right for you, you can always go back to using your account password.

Microsoft is also hosting a digital event called Yourless Futur Starts, now on October 13, 2021, to educate participants on how Microsoft is allowing users in organizations to remove their passwords.
