What happened? It doesn't usually happen that a gaming company praises competitors' products, but Microsoft seems happy to give it credit where it needs to be. On the Xbox's 20th anniversary, the brand shared a tweet featuring an image of four all-time iconic consoles - the original Xbox, PlayStation 2, Game Cube and Sega Dreamcast - titled "One of the Best Era" Play. "
The official Xbox Twitter account tweeted this message with the hashtag #Xbox20. These four devices come from the sixth generation of video game consoles, which, as anyone at the time could, truly be one of the best gaming eras. p>

In order of release date, Sega Dreamcast was launched and arrived in Japan in 1998, the rest of the world in 1999 (except India which I received it in December 2000). Despite being the best-selling console of the four, those who owned one still have fond memories of role-playing like Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, and Crazy Taxi. Unfortunately, Sega stopped creating the Dreamcast on March 31, 2001.
Next up is the PlayStation 2. Launched in 2000, the Sony console became the most popular gaming console of all time with 155 million units sold. Over 3,800 games have been released for PS2, with over 1.5 billion copies sold. p>
GameCube also celebrated its 20th birthday this year. The successor to the Nintendo 64 may have sold 10 million fewer units (21 million in total) than its predecessor, but its owners still have great consoles and games like Eternal Darkness, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Resident Evil 4. We'll remember.
Finally, there's the Xbox. Microsoft's first attack on the world of video game consoles - the first major case produced by an American company since Atari Jaguar in 1993 - was stronger than its competitors, and the first case to have an internal hard drive. With a slate of games that included Halo: Combat Evolved, it was widely available in the United States and sold 24 million copies worldwide. More cars than Sega and Nintendo, but couldn't compete with PS2.

Xbox wasn't the only one putting its hat on competing products. PlayStation also congratulated the company on its anniversary. p>
