Google has released a 1.8GB update for Pixel users for their operating system.

Sure, you probably already have Android 12 on your Pixel phone, but what if you install it again?

This is exactly what happened to some Pixel users yesterday. They had the latest version of Android 12 on their devices, and the phone's auto-update system allowed them to download almost the same version by downloading 1.8GB. After asking questions on Reddit, the official Google account responded to users by saying, "We're sorry for the warning you received. Don't worry, we've fixed this issue and you can ignore it."

< p> We have no way of knowing which builds users have updated to, but examples we've seen online include making Verizon out of the Pixel for non-Verizon users. Devices running Android 12 have been updated to the Verizon version with the November security update. As far as we can tell, the differences between the regular build and the Verizon version are what you'd expect: The Verizon version has an extra code that helps the phone run on the Verizon network. The damaged hardware appears to include many older Pixel devices, but not the entirely new Pixel 6.

It's not clear why the update is so great. Under normal circumstances, pressing a small amount of Verizon code on users should result in a small update. Google uses the Delta Update system, which only needs to send a modified code, but it looks like a completely new version of the operating system. The 1.8 GB download size is huge as far as Android updates are concerned. Something strange has happened, and Google is not talking about it… There are no reports of untrusted mobile access, which could be a problem.

Google has been updated, so if you receive the request, it should now be gone. If I accept the update...should everything still be fine? Oh!
