The Opera browser is used for general Internet use such as viewing websites, receiving and sending emails, managing communications, IRC online chat, downloading via BitTorrent, and reading feeds. Opera is available for free on computers, mobile phones, and tablets. Opera started as a research project at Telenor, Norway's largest telecommunications company. Opera's main components include browsing, tabbed basics, thumbnail and zooming features, a variety of mouse pointer skins, and an integrated download management section. In terms of security, Opera has in-house protection against phishing attacks and software known as malware (malware), and it also has the ability to maintain security while browsing websites and delete personal information such as cookies.
