Amazon is trying to discredit its employee misconduct by taking away the full cost of college for its 750,000 front-line employees. The move is part of Amazon's plan to expand the training and skills benefits offered to US employees, with a total investment of $1.2 billion by 2025.
Amazon said the plan covers college tuition, warehouse costs, textbooks, transportation, and other hourly employees on its operating network. Anyone wishing to participate must have worked for the company for at least 90 days. In addition, the company is adding three new training programs to give its employees the opportunity to learn skills in data center maintenance and technology, information technology, user experience, and research design. He had previously offered to pay 95% of his tuition, fees and textbooks to his hourly co-workers through his job selection program. Amazon plans to train its free skills on 300,000 employees, or about 30% of its workforce, over the next four years.
