What happened? The latest update to Amazon's Kindle e-reader software comes with a significant update to the user interface. Refreshing the home screen changes the library view and settings for easy access to specific options. More UI upgrades are on the way later this year.
update (version 5.13.7) is for 8th generation or later Kindles and 7th generation or later Kindle Paperwhite models. This includes most Kindles released in the past few years. Amazon says the update will start in the coming weeks.
Amazon has announced a new feature for faster access to brightness, airplane mode, and settings menus by simply swiping down on the screen. You can also switch between the Home screen, Library, and Book via the navigation feature at the bottom of the page.
According to an Ars Technica analysis, the search bar now replaces the top row of buttons. The house and library are included in a bilingual layout. Menus across Kindle are now smaller. By going to Device Information we will tell you the exact model of your Kindle. This update is the first change to the Kindle interface since 2016.
