Facepalm: NordPass has released its 2021 list of most popular passwords, and to no one's surprise, it's basically a revision of last year's list. In other words, many people still use very weak and common passwords that can be easily hacked.

The password manager has compiled a list of 200 common passwords based on its research. The list goes into details of the password itself, the time it takes to crack it, and how many times it appears in search.

If you think the most common password is "123456", hit hit yourself. The back of the incredibly common password has appeared more than 103 million times in NordPass searches, and it takes less than a second to crack it. In fact, any password in the top ten and all but one of the top 50 passwords can be hacked.

Two to five passwords include “123456789,” “12345,” “Qwerty,” and “password,” respectively.

Across the spectrum, "1g2w3e4r", "gwerty123", "myspace1" and "michelle" were listed as the hardest passwords with a three-hour break. NordPass also identified the countries most affected by the data leak, including Including the United States, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, France, Italy and Germany, among others.
