https://safirsoft.com Russia's space chief wishes to invest his wisdom, like Branson and Musk, in space

Dmitry Rogozin described the Virgin Galactic flight as a "turning point". After Sir Richard Branson's flight this weekend, the head of Russia's main aerospace company, Roscosmos, spoke kindly of the success on Twitter. Dmitry Rogozin described the flight as a "turning point" in terms of technological development and the increase in the number of people who can see Earth from space.

Then Rogozin went even further, lamenting that the "Russian oligarchy" was spending its money on yachts and useless projects instead of developing space technology and increasing humanity's knowledge of space.

This is a wonderful statement by Rogozin, who previously criticized a certain billionaire for spending money on developing space technology: SpaceX co-founder Elon Musk. Among other things, Rogozin said that NASA should not be too lazy about its newfound arrival in space in connection with the "break" of the Crew Dragon SpaceX spacecraft. He also said that SpaceX is "moderate" to operate in pleasant conditions in southern Texas, while Russian engineers and technicians work deep in Siberia during the winter.

Now, Rogozin seems to appreciate the private investment in space - and the value the industry has of commercial space for a spaceflight company in a country.

Effectively, Roscosmos represents Russia's national space company after the nationalization of its space industry. This program directs the launch of Soyuz and Proton, research and development, and management of space airports. Historically, commercial space activities that might rival Roscasmus itself have been less popular. Announcement

Analysis of the commercial space industry published in Spacewatch Global basically concluded that Roscosmos is trying to stay afloat, and has no way to support an entrepreneur-based space industry. β€œThe current priority of the Russian space program is to preserve its heritage capabilities, which hinders its development to its true potential because there is not enough incentive to justify funding for larger projects.”

Rogozin and other Russian space there are leaders to create conditions in which businesses may grow. This includes not only the absence of a contract but also access to facilities and other incentives.

For example, after purchasing the S7 flagship and launching the Sea Launch launcher in 2016, the company moved them to a Russian port near Vladivostok. The Russian company was told that conditions for maintaining the ships in Russia β€” and preparing the launch pad for the future β€” were as good as conditions in Long Beach, California, where the two ships were stored. But in financial terms, according to Vladislav Velv, owner of the S7, the situation is "twice worse" in Russia due to port infrastructure and parking costs. Unfavorable conditions for commercial space activities have prompted some Russians, such as Momentus founder Mikhail Kokorich, to leave Russia and invest in the US space industry. So, while Rogozin's newfound praise for investing in private space is important, it appears to have been praised late in the game.
