The engineer who claimed that Google's artificial intelligence was self-aware was fired!

Google apparently fired the engineer who claimed that the company's artificial intelligence had reached the stage of self-awareness. It is not clear what was the reason for this.
Many of us have seen this scary event in various science fiction movies when artificial intelligence reaches the stage of self-awareness and challenges humans and their minds. We've all seen how scary the offspring of the powerful human mind can be if it becomes just a little bit like humans, how dangerous it can be.
In the real world, for now, everything goes slowly and safely in this respect. For now, we are the rulers of artificial intelligence and we control them. But the elders of the technology field, such as Elon Musk, have repeatedly given many warnings regarding the self-awareness of artificial intelligence. It cannot be said that predictions always turn out to be correct, but this is not the first time that these people make predictions about something, but several years later, that is, when we forget that such predictions were made, those events happen.
The self-awareness of artificial intelligence is currently at this stage, but the recent incident at Google has caused some concern. The story is that apparently Google's artificial intelligence, LaMDA, has made significant progress, to the point where Blake Lemoine, one of the engineers of this project, claims that this artificial intelligence has become self-aware.
Of course, this happened. It has not happened now. It was in June of this year that Google put Lemoine on paid leave for violating a non-disclosure agreement he had with the company. What Lemoine did was call a member of the administration and voice his concerns about LaMDA's self-awareness. Of course, apparently, this concern did not lead to a good result for this person because Lemoine has now been fired.
Google spokesperson Brian Gabriel also confirmed this and wished Lemoine success. Continuing his speech in defense of LaMDA, he added that this artificial intelligence has now passed 11 different review stages and even a research paper on its development process has been published. According to Gabriel, Google has carefully examined all Lemoine's claims, but apparently none of these statements have been authenticated. It does not have the ability to achieve such progress, they somehow reject Lemoine's words. Of course, Lemoine himself says that during his conversation with LaMDA, he realized that this artificial intelligence has gone beyond the level of the program and has its own thoughts and feelings, not just producing dialogue simulated to reality. He believes that Google did not properly investigate his claims and should be more careful in this regard. But the only thing Google did in this regard was to fire Lemoine. Now we have to see what will happen in the future. In your opinion, did Lemoine have the right or just wanted to incite against Google? In general, do you think that artificial intelligence can one day reach the stage of self-awareness?
