Research shows that AirPods Pro can replace a professional hearing aid
Airpods are one of the best bluetooth handsfree in the world, which, in addition to having many features, also have excellent sound quality. But we did not expect these products to be suitable for those who have hearing problems, which according to the findings of a new study apparently have this capability. It has been investigated and as a result it has been determined that instead of buying hearing aids worth several thousand dollars, this product should be given a chance. Of course, in this research, AirPods 2 is mentioned as a very cheap alternative to expensive hearing aids. As it seems, with the help of these two products, middle sounds can be heard better than normal.
In this research, 21 patients who had hearing problems participated as samples. It was decided to test these people using a series of hearing aids and of course AirPods and AirPods 2. Two AirPods were connected to an iPhone so that they could use the phone's microphone to benefit from the Live Listen feature. With this feature, the iPhone's microphone is used to amplify the sounds in the room and send them to the AirPods.
These 21 people had to repeat every sentence they heard. The result showed that both in quiet and crowded environments, the performance of AirPods 2 was not better than hearing aids, but it was much better than normal. But AirPods Pro appeared a little beyond expectations and was able to compete with professional hearing aids. Of course, there is one point in this regard.
Airpods Pro was once able to help users hear sounds better when the sound was coming from all around them. The sound that was produced right in front of these people did not reach their ears very clearly. In this case, it didn't matter which model of AirPods they were using. Now, the interesting thing is that 75% of Americans don't want to wear hearing aids because they think they will look too old, and for some of them, AirPods Pro can be a more attractive and cheaper option.
