Google announced the existence of a dangerous security hole in several Samsung phones

A group of security researchers working at Google have announced that there is a security hole in a number of Samsung Exynos modems. 4 of the 18 reported security problems are very dangerous and hackers can gain access to these phones using only the target user's phone number. They report its existence, but it seems that Samsung did not pay attention to this issue and that is why this report was published. One of the researchers active in this project tweeted that despite 90 days have passed since the publication of this report, some users have not yet received the security updates. Google, a number of Vivo phones, wearable gadgets and cars are also visible. The list of items that have this security hole is as follows:
- Galaxy S22, M33, M13, M12, A71, A53, A33, A21, A12 and A04 series
- Vivo S16, S15, S6, X70, X60 and X30 series
- Google Pixel 6 and 7 series
- All wearable gadgets equipped with Exynos W920 chipset
- All Cars with Exynos Auto T5123 chipset
We should note that although Google has released a security update for the Pixel 7 series, this update has not yet been provided to users of the Pixel 6 series. These security researchers have recommended until the desired security update is released for phones with this security hole, users should disable Wi-Fi-based phone calls and VoLTE functionality. In any case, if you have these phones, it is better to download and install the received update as soon as possible after the release of the update.
