https://safirsoft.com OnePlus says Nord 2 5G is on its way, equipped with MediaTek

What to expect: With the Nord series, OnePlus has made a much-needed comeback in offering mid-range features at an affordable price. Although there is no official number to specify, the original Nord 2 5G will be replaced, likely soon this month.

Last year, when OnePlus unveiled the original Nord phone, it showed that it wanted to take the mid-range segment (again) seriously. The $460 OnePlus Nord looked good on paper, although it was a bit boring and generic in design, and it's also pretty shaky in most of the durability tests.

Although initially limited to distribution in Europe and India, it finally made its way to the US last January as part of a wave of wallet-friendly Nord models starting at just $180. Today, the company confirmed rumors that a successor to Nord is on the way. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is official, though the company hasn't announced all the details about the upcoming new device. OnePlus says the Nord 2 will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, so we're looking to exit Qualcomm's mobile operating system in favor of a solution for the largest phone chip vendor by volume.

It was said that OnePlus will not use standard dimensions of 1200 chipsets. The company has worked with MediaTek to add improvements focused on artificial intelligence, which is supposed to make mobile photography better, provide better game performance and even some screen improvements. The resulting chipset is called Dimensity 1200-AI, but we need to know more about the Nord 2 5G landing to learn more about the differences between this different version and the original.

Rumor has it that the new Nord will also come with a 2G screen with a high refresh rate of 90Hz or even 168Hz. Dimensity 1200-AI will be paired with a maximum of 12GB of RAM, and the battery can handle a small shock of 4500mAh. The main rear shooter may be equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, the same as the OnePlus 9 Pro.

There is no official release date yet, but according to a news agency, it may continue until the end of this month. If you're excited about the Nord 2 5G, it should be noted that OnePlus may be about to unveil its first Android tablet.
