What happened? Microsoft announced earlier this year that it would bring Android apps to Windows 11 through a partnership with the Amazon App Store. This feature wasn't ready for the operating system's public launch on October 5, but it's now available to test the limited capabilities of Windows Insider.

Starting today, the Windows Insiders beta channel can preview the Android app experience on eligible devices. Insiders find a limited selection of Android apps in the Microsoft Store that should look like regular Windows 11 apps. Users will be able to run Android apps side by side using Snap Layouts, pin them to the Start menu or taskbar, and interact with them using a mouse, stylus, or touch.

Microsoft has announced that Android apps will also be integrated into Alt + Tab and Task View to easily switch between open apps. In addition, users will also receive notifications from Android apps in the Action Center, and you can also share clipboard data between Windows and Android apps.

Redmond said: The integration is designed with accessibility in mind, which means that many of the accessibility settings in Windows work as expected in Android apps. Some comprehensive functionality may still be missing initially. , but Microsoft is working on wrinkle removal with Amazon.

Individuals are encouraged to share their experiences with Android apps through the Feedback Center.

Initially, only 50 Android apps will be available for testing and validation for Windows Insider users. Microsoft has announced plans to launch new apps through Windows Insider in the coming months, suggesting that their full launch to the general consumer may still be a solution.
