tl; DR: Are you hoping to get a shiny or dirty used graphics card for the holidays? You might want to think of something else. The latest report on pricing and GPU availability in Germany and Austria, a good indicator of global trends, shows that the situation is not improving. The average price of the RTX 3000 series is still rising, and while the Radeon RX 6000 line has gotten a little cheaper, there's a simple explanation for why.
As usual, the Ampere/RDNA 2 card review comes from German publication 3DCenter. At first glance, we see that the Radeon RX 6000 series has fallen from 101% above its MSRP to 90%. This may sound like good news, but the cards themselves aren't really cheap. This is because retailers have received shipments of non-XT RX 6800 cards which lower the average price for the entire line. p>
There is no ambiguity about the average price of the latest Nvidia cards. Amp has been rising since August 8 and is now 95% above its MSRP. This is also the first time that Tim Green products have been more expensive than AMD since July 18.
Given the painful availability issue, Nvidia has seen no change since the previous report was released in early November. The RTX 3060 Ti, 3070, and 3080 Ti all have four-star ratings, while the rest of the amplifier has only three stars. p>
AMD's availability has seen little change: The Radeon 6900 XT still has four stars. But the RX 6800 doubled from one star to two. The rest of the line scored 3.5 points. p>
The familiar frustrating scenario is repeated in the flea market. Our review of card prices on eBay shows that amps and RDNA 2 increased by 9%. Even the older generations become more expensive. The Nvidia 20 Series (+6%), 16 Series (+5%), and 10 Series (+7%) series saw price increases between October and November. Radeon 5000 series is up 9%. eBay average price for September eBay average price for September eBay average price for October current price for November current price rises from October to November GeForce RTX 3090 $1,500 2,863 $2,818 $2, $818 3.70% GeForce 3080 Ti $1,200 1880 $1,951 $1,916 60% 4 GeForce RTX 3080 $1,700 $1,673 $1,534 $1,584,126 3 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 600 $1,191 $1,151 $1,251,104 7 GeForce RTX $3070 $1,807 500 $1,121 $866 $1,170 134% 4 GeForce RTX 3060 Titanium Graphics Card $400 $860 946,136% 10% GeForce RTX 3060 $330 $708 $692 $739 $739 124% 7% Medium 113% 6%
We all know chip shortages are the main cause of the card price crisis, but the card price crisis seems to be on the rise. Like Bitcoin, Atrium is another important factor. The upcoming holiday season will also affect pricing and availability as people try to upgrade their parts in time for Christmas. p>
When will things get back to normal? Nobody can say for sure. Optimism is the second half of next year, while others believe that 2023 is a more realistic target. p>
