Fans of Noctua's iconic brown and beige designs (there must be some) will be happy to know that this design made its way onto graphics cards thanks to a collaboration between Asus and the cooling/fan company.
Rumors of a partnership surfaced last month when Komachi spotted Asus' listing for the GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB Noctua on the Eurasian Economic Commission website. Now, the Asus ROG Vietnam Facebook page has confirmed the authenticity of the product and published the first official images. A fan of the Nct-A12x25 Noctua is under the shroud. It also has two trademark "GeForce RTX" and "ASUS X Noctua" with two 8-pin power connectors for a maximum power of 300W.
This RTX 3070 has three DisplayPort outputs and two HDMI ports, not the typical 3x DP and 1x HDMI port. No specs available yet, but the product code - RTX3070-O8G-NOCTUA - indicates that this is an overclocked factory model.
Of course, the bad news comes at a price. Graphics cards are getting more expensive after weeks of decline, and that's what this product shows. The Facebook post states that it's selling for VND 26 million (about $1,177) — the usual price you'd pay on eBay for a standard RTX 3070. Potential buyers will also have to deal with availability issues until the second half of the year. 2022.
If the outcome of the Asus-Noctua collaboration becomes known, we may see other cards using the latest cooling solutions. Also check out our Best of Cooling 2021 feature, where the legendary Noctua NH-D15 has been named the best air conditioner.
