Owners of GIGABYTE Z690 motherboards can now fix the issue after Intel released a list of games not working due to DRM interference with the new Alder Lake CPUs.
In early November, Intel confirmed that some games would not work with Alder Lake. Chipzilla said more games are having trouble running Windows 10 with Alder Lake - unlike in Windows 11 - and while some newer games, such as Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, are also affected. has been placed. The problem is that your digital rights management (DRM) software has mistakenly identified Alder Lake effective cores (electronic cores) as another system. This can prevent games from starting, cause in-game crashes, or stop unexpectedly. p>
One solution involves activating the legacy game compatibility mode that puts electronic cores on standby (read how to do this), but this involves entering the BIOS, and must be activated after each reboot. But the Gigabyte DRM Fix Tool (download here) allows anyone to easily turn on and off electronic cores through the tool's user interface. The only requirement is that the users' motherboards have the latest operating system installed. p>
While this tool only works with mobos Gigabyte Z690, don't be surprised if other manufacturers release their own versions of these tools, follow these. GIGABYTE provides a list of all Z690 motherboards and the latest BIOS version for each product. p>
