Why it matters: Nvidia has yet to announce the desktop RTX 3050 Ti, but it looks like AMD may be the first new graphics card. Thanks to some eagle-eyed folks and great screenshot capabilities, we can now expect the Red Team and AIB partners to unveil the RX 6600 non-XT, hopefully with a more attractive price and better availability than the RX 6600 XT.
Last month, AMD introduced the much-anticipated Radeon RX 6600 XT, dubbed "Beast 1080p." Stephen Walton tested this claim and found that the new card is roughly equivalent to the RX 5700 XT in terms of random performance, with radiation tracing and DirectX 12 Ultimate support. They're currently more valuable than Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3060 in terms of cost per frame, although both cards can only be found at exorbitant prices.
What would be a godsend for many players a little less. The latest version of the RX 6600 XT at a lower price and similar or improved availability. According to a listing seen by Videocardz on the Portuguese retail site, this card appears to be on the way.
Admittedly, MSRP is a term that has lost its meaning at this point, with signs emerging on street prices going back to the stratosphere. But with a likely release date of October 13, we won't have to wait to see what the RX 6600 means — especially if it's made of butane.
AMD's Radeon RX 6600 may be available next month
