Ubisoft is said to be considering changing Assassin's Creed as a Game as a Service (GaaS). With the success of Grand Theft Auto Online and other online multiplayer games, the company believes that the market for the hacked model has fully reached the Assassin's Creed bit.
Insiders have told Bloomberg that Ubisoft developers are working on a multiplayer game codenamed Assassin's Creed Infinity. Standalone titles in the franchise usually focus on a period of history. According to insiders, Infinity will have several settings and time slots that players can experience together.
This game is in the early stages of development and a release date has not been set for at least a few years, so details are scarce and constantly changing. These sources say that Infinity expands naturally over time and at regular intervals. Additionally, future individual titles will be linked to the online release's story and history. How and how to paint is not clear.
A Ubisoft spokesperson is not discussing the game but confirms its existence. "The developer's vision is to 'exceed the expectations of fans who want a more cohesive approach to Assassin's Creed gaming,'" the spokesperson said in response to an unanswered question.
