What happened? Sony is almost ready to reveal what it has in store for the PlayStation 5 this holiday season. In a new blog post, Sid Schumann, Senior Director of Global Content Communications at PlayStation, said Sony will hold the next PlayStation Show on September 9. The program runs for about 40 minutes and includes updates from PlayStation Studio and some of the industry's leading developers, highlighting games due for release this holiday season and beyond.
Schumann has already dispelled a rumor. The next generation PlayStation Virtual Reality system is not featured in the show. PlayStation 5.
< p> At the time, we were told that the new PSVR would allow for "big leaps in performance and interaction" due to higher resolution, better field of view, improved tracking, and more accurate inputs. It's expected to be connected to the console via a cable and shipped with a new and improved ergonomics controller that borrows key features from the DualSense Wireless Gamepad.
No release date has been set, but we know it won't be released this year.
Of course, there are still a lot of players waiting for the chance to get the PS5. Unfortunately, the lack of parts, scalpels, and retail store policies still make it frustrating.
The Sony PlayStation Show will be shown on September 9 (next Thursday) at 1pm. Pacific/4pm on YouTube and Twitch.
