Highly anticipated: Bethesda has always been a major first-person RPG player due to titles like Skyrim, Morrowind, and Fallout 4, but it won't rule any kingdom forever. Obsidian challenged Bethesda for dominance with the release of The Outer Worlds in 2019, and seems eager to do so again with Avowed in the future: its first crack in a medieval fantasy RPG. If the newly revealed game rumors are heeded, the team will only have a chance to win.
So far, we haven't heard much about Avowed. We saw one trailer for CG in July last year and were told that the movie is set in the same game world as Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity - Eora - but that's it. Otherwise, we just had to guess.
This is somewhat true, but it looks like people using Windows Central got a first look at the game thanks to their resources (maybe some anonymous Obsidian developers) as well as seeing the actual gameplay. Reporter Jez Corden has learned some interesting details about some of the major recognized game systems.
Apparently, this game will have a "multi-class game style" and a liquid class system similar to Skyrim. This means dual use of magic and weapons (we saw some of that in the CG trailer) and the ability to shape your playstyle on the go. You can be a rogue dagger, knife, warrior with swords and plates, pure wizard, archer, or a combination of all.
For the kinds of spells you can expect to see, Obsidian inspires his work wisdom with the Eternity Pillar 1 and 2. Fan-favorite spells like Fireball and Jolting Touch (the equivalent of Columns with Dock's Shocking Grasp) are as present and shocking as you'd expect . What about non-magical abilities? Corden says combat characters can strike and protect, though it's not clear how effective they are. Will it be more like a dark battle of Christ or close to oblivion, with every weapon hitting like wet pasta? Hope the previous case. Skyrim ">

However, battle isn't the only thing to expect. The game is also said to include swimming, destructible environments, and the ability to use magic to interact with the world from around you - eg you can burn wooden obstacles and watch fire on floors and walls.
