PS5 and Xbox Series X/S support 120fps, and DualSense support is a bonus for PS players. If you recently purchased a Quake remaster Bethesda for Sony or Microsoft platforms, you've got good luck today - the publisher recently released a next-generation upgrade that adds 4K resolution to 120fps and upgrades are free.

The Bethesda blog reported Tuesday that first-person shooter Classic id Software is now available to PS5 and Xbox Series owners on PS4 or Xbox One, following the game's surprise release on QuakeCon in August. At that time, the latest generation of consoles from Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo Switch, and PC were overshadowed by the Remaster. Subsequent versions have been announced for future releases, but no release date has been announced. It's a high-quality remaster with a host of improvements, including support for multiplayer and multiplayer bots, the main single-player campaign and expansion, and changing visual benefits like antifreeze, environmental bans, and weapon upgrades. Bethesda even surprised fans with massive bonuses, like a new batch from developer Wolfenstein MachineGames, the original and disturbing soundtrack of Nine Inch Nails (not available in the game's only modern version for years), and perhaps best of all. - Earthquake 64, with a beautiful lo-fi filter to create a very authentic CRT effect in high definition.

The biggest advantage of this upgrade might be the PS5 exclusive, which also adds DualSense support. Shocking vibrations and adaptive triggers add more beat to your celebrations, complimented by DualSense speaker sound effects, which you'll probably want to skip a bit in the PS5 system options. These are welcome additions, although we hope that Bethesda will improve the game a bit more in future updates, allowing players to get rid of the existing subtle but significant control stress they are currently paying.

We should note that we have not tested all available weapons, so some of the later explosive weapons may be more resistant to operation. The disadvantage of the PS5 game is that you cannot transfer the saved data from the PS4 version. However, Xbox Series X/S support allows you to save transitions, and the game is compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere, which is a nice relaxing bonus. (Both operating systems support a higher frame rate of 120fps as long as you have a compatible monitor.

If you don't already have Quake on PS4 or Xbox One, you can opt for next-generation games from PlayStation or Xbox for $10. Upgrades are also available to Xbox Game Pass holders on Xbox Series X / S. Gibbin'.
