https://safirsoft.com Modder adds full VR motion controls to Resident Evil 2 and 3
Access to mods is one of the main reasons why many gamers are interested in PC as a platform. Innovative brokers create everything from comprehensive fixes and graphic optimization packages to completely different input methods for their favorite games. Modder Praydog did the latter with the Resident Evil series on PC: They were able to add full VR support to Resident Evil 2 and 3, and more basic support for subsequent inputs to the series, including RE7 and RE8.

The results were great. Bray Doug has implemented full 6DOF motion controls and a first-person camera, which is a huge problem in itself. However, he's taken it one step further with realistic weapon and ballistic physics - you can manually throw grenades and hit enemies from any angle you want with the butt of your gun or knife blade.

We admit brawling doesn't seem to be the most influential thing in the world, but that's not surprising. Unless VR makers are able to implement some of the features of a shock absorber or a weight-and-gun model, melee combat always seems a bit buoyant compared to "traditional" video game battles.

However, it does work with Perry Dog. It's like playing vanilla VR, which is what we probably see in Resident Evil. Even better, it's easy to install, at least in the case of the mods.

To add it to RE2 or Remastered version 3, you just need to install SteamVR and save the files from the downloaded corresponding zip extract. This Github page currently has clouds for DMC5, Monster Hunter Rise, RE2, 3, 7, and 8.

Once you have the correct file, extract it to the appropriate game installation folder, and it should be done. Simply launch your game and press the insert key to open the VR mode menu. If everything is configured to your liking, everything should run smoothly from there. If it doesn't, you can find here a helpful troubleshooting guide.
