Previous buyers can still use Scott's items in the wake of the Astroworld disaster. After being updated on Sunday with an "Out West" emoji featuring Travis Scott. The move comes on the heels of the tragic events of the Astroworld concert in Houston last Friday, in which at least eight people died while Scott was singing and 25 were hospitalized.

Emoji for "Out West" Fortnite. Fortnite confirmed in an update on Twitter Sunday night that the move was "intended," but did not mention Scott or any specific motivation for the decision. An Epic representative was not immediately available for comment.

The mascot in question features a clip from "Out West" by Scott and Jack Boys with a dance based on a bunch of viral sentiments on TikTok. The song itself first appeared in the game in August 2020, and has since been regularly available for 500 V-Bucks (roughly $3 to $4) at least once a month. Players who have already purchased the emoji can still use it in-game along with the Travis Scott skin that was available for purchase in April 2020.

Discussions on Reddit and the various effects of Fortnite items show that this code is brief. Available again Sunday night before the daily section is completely removed. By Monday night, the Daily Section is back with a whole new set of in-game items for purchase. to Fortnite last April, when it ran a virtual in-game party that drew more than 27 million people, including 12.3 million who were watching at once. These kinds of concerts have been key to Fortnite's efforts to expand beyond its shooter core to become a hub for Epic Games' specials. and a lawsuit to stir up Fortnite sentiment from dances created by foreign artists without providing credit or compensation.
