What to expect: Monster Hunter Rise was released for the first time this year on the Nintendo Switch as a time-exclusive. This week, Capcom finally revealed the release date for the PC version and details of what the port includes.
As part of the Tokyo Game Show 2021 presentation, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will release on PC on January 12, 2022, with a press release and pre-order details about the game's Steam page. The free trial will be available on October 13 this year. By playing the demo, the outcome of the game is locked as soon as it appears.
According to the Steam page, Monster Hunter Rise on PC supports 4K resolution, HDR, ultra-high aspect ratio, and frame rate. The official website also confirms that the PC version has better texture, voice chat and mouse and keyboard re-control. The PC version will have the same content as the Switch version, including all updates scheduled for November.
Capcom has also launched an online survey for TGS 2021, which includes questions about additional features customers want for the PC version, including cross-save and cross-save options. One of the new features of Rise is the addition of "Palamutes" - the numbered animal companions that assist in both transport and combat. There is another tool called "Wirebug", which players can use as a hook for ease of movement or as a weapon in combat. Just behind Monster Hunter World, Capcom's best-selling game to date. This is impressive considering that Monster Hunter World was released simultaneously on two Rise consoles. Currently, with 7 million copies, Rise is currently one of Capcom's 10 best selling games of all time.
