https://safirsoft.com AT&T offers free-to-play Batman: Arkham Knight via Stadia technology with a white label

What happened? Google's Stadia didn't do well, but it has since found a niche in the game market. Its users appreciate the ability to play with high definition and high frame rate at the press of a button without losing performance. However, Stadia's use goes far beyond the relationship between Google and the customer — for now, the company is offering its coverage technology to telecom giant AT&T as a "white label" product.

White labeling refers to the business strategy some companies use to purchase and brand goods made by another company, and produce them locally. In some circumstances, this might be vague and even illegal, but in the case of AT&T's Stadia, it's pretty cool.

IGN spoke with AT&T and Google and confirmed that the companies had somehow reached a closed deal: Google allows AT&T to use its technology to deliver the carrier's latest offering. This demo is an accidentally "free" access to Batman: Arkham Knight, the action-adventure title you've guessed is the world of Batman.

This is the latest entry in the Arkham series of games, which all have almost the same gameplay, albeit with some minor tweaks and additions. Knight, for example, lets you play the Batmobile and was first released in 2015.

You need an active AT&T Wireless subscription to use the AT&T Offer. Since I'm using a different provider, I can't test how this process works, but it seems very simple. Simply visit this page, enter your AT&T wireless number and zip code, pass CAPTCHA and hit the "Login Now" button.

What will happen next is everyone's guess. I assume you will receive a verification code, which you may need to enter on the next page. Since AT&T has not made any changes to Stadia, you should be able to launch the game with a single click. However, you must use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

I have no idea how the savings will work here, nor do I know how long this little bonus offer will last. This is a strange marketing ploy and I am skeptical of its potential effectiveness. I don't think the typical AT&T customer is necessarily a player. At least, not the inherently complex kind (for new players) like Arkham, Knight. But perhaps the accessibility nature of Stadia's broadcasts will affect the number of potential subscribers with a long-term contract with AT&T?

Only time is shown. If we hear more about this or similar suggestions, we'll let you know.
