Windows integration remains a priority for Microsoft.

Improving the visual compatibility and performance of Windows 11 has become a top priority for Microsoft this year, as it continues to grow. Major app updates like Notepad, Paint, and Media Player have been checked, as well as efforts underway to move advanced settings from legacy Windows 7 control panels to modern settings. Also considered was bringing some flexibility back to the redesigned sections of the operating system, such as the Start menu and taskbar.

Other changes to this preview build are minor. The “Apps and Features” shortcut menu of Windows + X is called “Installed apps,” Voice access can be pinned to the taskbar and start menu, and the Clock app can be unpinned. Funny times!

We don't know when the changes that are currently being tested will be announced in the developer channel - Microsoft made some changes as part of smaller updates to Windows and many apps. Updates are now available through the Microsoft Store. Others may be waiting for Windows 11's first major service update, version 22H2, which will be released later this year.
