The Xbox Series S is fairly compact - and certainly smaller than its bigger brother, the X Series. However, what a mobile person knows is far from that. Of course, that didn't stop Australian startup UPspec from creating a contactable page for the box.
xScreen, the 11.6-inch screen connects to the back of the Xbox Series S by connecting to its various ports. Your Xbox cables, in turn, connect to the xScreen dock, and the HDMI output connects to the device's built-in speakers and 1080p LED. Once connected, it gives your Xbox a screen that folds up when not in use.
Let's be clear here. This device will not convert your Microsoft digital console into a portable gaming device. You still need a power port for the Xbox (the screen drains from the USB console), so you don't want to turn it off. However, it may be beneficial for your children to spend the night at home and at bedtime parties.
xScreen is by no means innovative. Several companies made similar devices to the PS One in the early 2000s, which were very compact, and much smaller than the XBSS. The UPspec isn't breaking new ground here, but it's taking advantage of a market that hasn't had much success with other consoles in the past.
For those old enough to get a small, compact screen for the PS One.
The key point here is the cost of xScreen. With a retail price of $249, the monitor is the size of an XBSS (if you find it $300). So this is a relatively expensive piece of equipment that we'll likely only see occasionally. The xScreen didn't reach commercial production, but UPspec met its average Kickstarter target of $9,703. Kotako noted that he raised his budget 20 minutes after starting his career on Kickstarter. Interest in this device has generated $58,791 since this article was written. Early investors get a 20% off screen discount, but keep in mind that there is still no guarantee that it will result despite the funding target being met. If all goes well, UPspec expects production and shipping to begin in December. p>
Xbox Series S may soon have a third-party portable display for easy portability
