What to expect: This week, Netgear is proud to announce that it's the industry's first 6-inch mesh router with six fans. The new model promises to be the latest addition to the Orbi series of WiFi systems for large homes, with more frequencies accelerating and supporting. It's now available for pre-order and should ship on time during the holidays, but it will put you far behind.
According to the new model Netgear product page, the built-in Wi-Fi speed can reach 10.8Gbps. As radios and antennas are upgraded, 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi devices can also increase speeds by up to 30%. Three beams of a router and two satellites should provide these speeds within a range of up to 9,000 square feet. The RBKE960 series also has one 10Gbps Ethernet WAN port, one 2.5GbE port, and three 1GbE ports.
The WiFi 6 standard, also known as 802.11ax, was introduced last year to improve wireless internet performance as well as the frequency range at which devices can operate. Earlier this year, TechSpot ranked Orbi Netgear as the best network Wi-Fi system. WiFi 6E is a WiFi 6 extension that supports 6GHz connections.
