What happened? Canon is deeply immersed in the emerging field of virtual reality. An imaging expert has announced the world's first interchangeable digital dual lens for fish eyes that can transmit 180-degree VR stereo images to a single image sensor.
The RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens is unlike anything seen before, take a quick look to understand that fact. Curiosity has a pair of L-series lenses set at 60mm to 60mm distances, allowing you to record 180-degree 3D images in VR mode with different landscape when viewed through a headset. Compatibles such as the Oculus Quest 2 are very similar to human vision.
As the name suggests, the lens has an aperture of seven from f/2.8 to f/16 and is designed for use with the EOS R5 mirrorless camera. It has a focusing distance of approximately 7.87 inches and has an internal gelatin filter for use with ND gel filters.
Canon said the recorder uses a coating at the following wavelengths to help reduce image flare in backlight conditions. It has a standard water and dust sealant as well as a fluorine coating that allows photography in even the harshest weather conditions.
It is worth noting that Canon EOS R5 users will need to upgrade their operating system in the future. Version 1.5.0 or higher to use the new lens.
