What happened? Apple today unveiled two new professional iPhones, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, during a livestream in California. These top models represent the best that Apple has to offer in smartphones, starting with the new A15 Bionic CPU.
Apple's latest custom silicon includes two high-performance cores and four high-performance cores. There's also a new 16-core Neural Engine with 15.8 trillion operations per second and a quad-core GPU, up to 50% faster than its leading competitors. In fact, Apple claims it is the fastest graphics subsystem on any smartphone.
Like last year's models, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screens, respectively. But this time, Apple introduced an all-new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion. This technology allows the monitor to automatically sense what is happening on the screen and adjust the refresh rate accordingly, from 10 Hz to 120 Hz. The glass cover includes a surgical-grade stainless steel band back on the new Pro models, which are available in four colors: graphite, gold, silver, and Sierra Blue. The front aperture housing the TrueDepth camera system is 20% smaller, which is undoubtedly a plus for those with a bad cut.
